More than just a hotel-restaurant,
A true family epic!
A beautiful family story...
The story begins in 1963, when Simone and Léon VEYRAT-DUREBEX decided to set up a hotel-restaurant at the summit of the Col de la Croix Fry. At the time, there was no talk of a winter sports resort! Léon even takes a sketchy trail in his 2cv van!
The four children: Renée, Marie-Odile, Michèle and Patrice work as a family. People come from far and wide to enjoy Simone's cooking.
After Léon's death, Simone continued to run the restaurant with her daughter Renée and her husband Joseph.
Simone passed on her passion to her grandson Emmanuel, who attended the Ecole hôtelière de Thonon les Bains and then the Ecole Supérieure de Cuisine Française in Paris.
And, after training with Jean COUSSAU at the Relais de la Poste in Magescq, with the Haeberlin family at the Auberge de l'Ill and at Marc VEYRAT's Eridan, he decided to join the family business.
The first wave of renovations began in the 90s, with an extension to the dining room, followed by the bar and reception area.
Today, the Col de la Croix Fry is run by the 3rd generation: Renée, Joseph, Emmanuel - the eldest son - in the kitchen, and Christophe for sales and entertainment.
Daughters-in-law Aline and Peggy take care of service. It's a wonderful family story that has been delighting customers for 60 years!
And the story isn't over yet... Phybie, Corentin, Kévin, Lydie, Gabriel and Enael will certainly be there to write the sequel!
